Christian music as a genre…

27th April

Christian music as a genre has always been a music you move on from. Young Christian baby-boomers and Gen-X once in love with the music abandoned it in adulthood and have not returned.
Charlie Peacock, in a fascinating read about the current state of CCM, Contemporary Christian Music.

Picking up a guitar…

14th April

Picking up a guitar and learning where and how to place my fingers, a guitar pick, figuring out where the notes and chords were and finally how to listen to others in a group I was trying to fit into were all part of being a true guitarist and musician. I became a disciple in the musician’s sense AS I PRACTICED.

Something the Lord has led me to share again and again over the past several years is that it is indeed practice that separates people who have music gear from actual musicians.
Glenn Kaiser of classic Christian rock group REZ Band fame

“My guitar is not a thing. It is an extension of myself. It is who i am.”
–Joan Jett

8th April

“Anyone with a functional brain can soon become an expert in any field if he or she would simply study that subject only 15 minutes a day.”

Albert Einstein

A great argument for spending at least 15-minutes a day practicing the guitar.

2nd April

“An artist makes art. That is his primary concern. Focusing on where it is distributed or how it is promoted will begin to erode our artistry. So artists, do your thing. Stay passionate about the art, and watch God open the doors.”
